Hello everyone!
Hope you all doing well
and in the best of your health.
Nowadays most of us spent
our whole day staring at one screen or another, Weather for work or to relax,
the blue light coming from the screen of our computer and phones affects our
body’s circadian rhythm, our natural wake and most importantly harms our delicate
eye area. Consequently, we face many problems, like headaches, blurry vision,
dryness, redness, and itchiness in our eyes, even we suffer from dreaded dark
circles around our eye area.
WHAT IS
BLUE LIGHT?
Sunlight is the strongest
producer of natural blue light and consuming natural blue light is super beneficial
for our health, it helps boosts our attention level, making us more alert and
productive. Blue light is not something special from light, the only difference
is the blue light comes from our computer, phone, television, tablets, etc. and
it harms your eyes, around the eye area even our sleeping cycle.
Here are some easy and
effective tips to protect your eyes from harmful blue light damage and make
your screen times much easier and bearable for your eyes:
FILTER IT:
The blue light coming from
your computer or phone can strain your eye and even cause insomnia, so you are
someone like me and can’t stop bingeing that new show or scrolling through Instagram
or Facebook, Download a good blue light filter app on your computer or phone to
change the temperature of the light, you can even change the light and color
setting built into your phone, for healthier strolling.

you are scrolling your phone or working on your computer in a dark room.

COOLING EYE MASK:
Unfortunately, puffy eyes
and dark circles come hand in hand with extended screen time. If you are
suffering from major dark circle and puffiness around your eye area then a cooling
and a soothing eye mask will come to your rescue.
Here are two quick and easy
eye masks that you can make at home and pamper your eyes:
Cucumber eye mask:
Take 2 to 3 tbsp of cucumber juice in a
blow and refrigerate it for 5 mins, dip a cotton pad into it and place the cotton
pads around your eye area. Leave it for 15 minutes then massage the left-over
juice.
You can do this even with
cucumber slices.
Cucumber is rich in
vitamin C and high in water content, which moisturizes and gives soothing effect under your eye area and
reduces puffiness.
Coffee and chilled milk:
Take
1 tbsp of raw and chilled milk, mix it with 1 tbsp of finely ground coffee and
apply the mixture around your eye area and rinse it off after 15 mins.
The jolt of caffeine
helps wake up your tired eyes and reduce dark circles, while raw, chilled milk moisturizes
the delicate eye area and gives a cooling effect.
HYDRATE YOURSELF:
Along with an overdose of
screens, dry and dull eyes are also symptoms of dehydration. Say no to coffee
and tea to keep you awake. Instead, drink tons of water, replenishing fruit juices
and hydrating fruits, like watermelon, cucumber, pineapple or coconut water and
orange juice.

and focus longer. A blink helps to lubricate, & nourish the eyes and prevents
dryness; it also helps clean the surface of your eye for clearer vision. So! Skip
the medicated eye drops and blinks away. This simple exercise will help your
eyes to produce more tears and keep your eyes hydrated

and makes your brain and eyes refreshed.
AVOID DEVICES BEFORE SLEEPING:
This is the most common
piece of suggestion or advise, that you have heard for a million times, but
trust me there is nothing that can ruin your sleep more than your phone or any
bright screen. So! An hour before sleeping keep your phone away from you and
spend some quality time with yourself by reading your favorite book or listening
some music, Or, even you can meditate for 15 minutes before going to bed for
