We all want a happy and healthy life, but many we fail to follow a healthy routine to achieve that. Small additions of some positive habits in your life will be the pillar of your success, while some healthy habits will improve your mental state and overall well being.

So! Today I am going to talk about such 10 positive and healthy habits that changed my life completely, and if you start doing them from today, it will change your life into an even better one.

 

  • WAKE UP WITH NO PHONE:

A study says that about 80% of smartphone users check their mobiles within 15 minutes of waking up each morning. If you are someone whose morning starts with scrolling Facebook and Insta stories or WhatsApp chats, then please stop doing these immediately. Using smart phones just after waking up increased stress and anxiety level. Make your mornings more productive rather than just lying on the bed, scrolling the phone, and doing nothing. Get up from your bed as soon as you wake up, stand In front of your window, let your body and eyes absorb the natural light coming from nature. Enjoy your rest of the day more peacefully and positively.

  • DITCH COFFEES AND TEAS IN THE MORNING:

Drinking a cup of coffee or tea in the morning may seem like heaven but it harms your overall health in the long run. Coffee and tea cause stomach aches, acidity, digestion problems, etc.

Instead of consuming caffeine in the morning, start your day with some green tea or organic tea, even you can start your day just one glass of Luke warm water. I personally take one glass of warm water with some nuts as my morning start up.

  • PLAN YOUR WEEK/DAY AHEAD:

Every morning, plan your day with a to-do list. Sit down with a pen and paper, write all of the work you have to do on that particular day, and keep marking them as you finished a particular work. It hardly takes five minutes but brings a structure to your day. It will surely help you to be more organized and more productive throughout the day, or you can extend this one step further by doing a weekly planner, in the same process write down all the plans you have for your entire week. I have been doing this for 3 to 4 years, and it changed my life like nothing. It helps me to be more motivated and more productive throughout the day and week.



  • NEVER SKIP BREAKFAST:

Breakfast is the most important meal of our entire day. Studies says that what you eat for breakfast puts a significant effect on how your body works throughout the day. A healthy breakfast is not only crucial for maintaining a healthy weight, but it also provides your body with the fuel it needs to work as efficiently as possible.

So! If you are someone who often skip breakfasts for several reasons, STOP DOING THIS, it will surely harm your health and weight in the long run.

  • HEALTHY LIVING IS EQUALS TO HEALTHY EATING:

If you are a big foodie like me then it’s too difficult for you to maintain a proper diet. But healthy eating is not just about maintaining a strict diet, starving, and anything like this. I am not a dietitian, but what I do for myself is, I try to skip the junk and oily foods, sweets as much as I can, rather than I have started taking more homemade foods, fishes, eggs, and loads of veggies in my daily meals. Let’s face it, eating junk and oily food will definitely harm our health, skin, and even mental health in the long run. So! Be a big foodie but in a healthy way.

  • SPENT TIME WITH YOUR SELF:

How many of you can sit down properly without no phone, no work, no people, anything? I know lots of you can’t, even I was someone like you. We keep neglecting the fact that even we need our attention, love, and care too. So! Start spending time with yourself, have a ‘ME-TIME’ for good 10 minutes daily. Having a ‘me time’ will allow you to decompress, get rid of stress, and recharge your mind and you will be more productive. Honestly. I have started doing this one month back and I am still progressing in this. Start doing from today, it will really give you a break from your daily hustle.

  • WATER TRACKER:

We all know the benefits of drinking water and Why It is a healthy habit to drink enough water in a day, but many of us forget taking enough water throughout the day and when your water intake does not equal your output, you become dehydrated.

So! I am going to share two of The most effective solutions to this problem, which helped me a lot.

First, Fill a 4 to 5 liters bottle with water and keep this in such a place where you usually spend your most of the day, It could be your study table, your working table even beside your bed and keep sipping it after every one or half-hour throughout the day.

Second, make your own water tracker and keep marking it whenever you finish your desired amount of water intake. I have been doing this from January and I’ve found this super helpful. ( See: 8 fun ways to keep your self hydrated.)

  • LISTEN MOTIVATING PODCAST:

PODCASTS are a great and positive way to help pass time, they are not only good entertainments but also a good education and super motivation. Start listening some good motivating podcasts according to your interest and you will surely love them.

  • EXERCISE:

Countless studies show that many types of exercise, from walking to yoga make people feel better and can even reduce symptoms of depression. Do at least 20 to 30 minutes of some freehand exercises or walk, regular physical activity can also increase your dopamine and serotonin levels, making it a great opinion to boost your happy hormones.

  • MEDITATION:

Your inner self needs some exercise too and for this MEDITATION has no alternative. Meditation produces a deep state of relaxation and a calm mind, providing mental benefits. In fact, the practice of daily meditation will help you to stay focused and reduce the symptoms of depression and anxiety.

 I have started meditating 3 years back and from then I am doing it regularly. I prefer meditating at night especially, I sit for 15 minutes to 20 minutes daily but if you are a morning person, start doing it as soon as you wake up. I assure you; you will notice a huge difference in your mental health, within just one or two months. I have seen a hell lot of difference in my thinking process and overall mental health after starting meditation. I think this is one of the best habits, I’ve built so far.


 So! these are some positive and healthy habits that changed my life and made me a better person. Start implementing these from today, you will surely find effective.
